LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A petition to recall Mason Mayor Russell Whipple has been rejected by Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum, while a second recall petition for Councilwoman Elaine Ferris will continue to undergo review.
The petitions were circulated following resident backlash against Mason officials over a proposed data center project.
Part of the process included an attempt to create a zoning ordinance to restrict and limit what data centers can do, their appearance and noise level and other regulatory issues. Those ordinance changes were ultimately repealed.
