Lansing launches redevelopment opportunity showcase

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing now has a place where potential developers can find opportunities to build on publicly owned land within city limits, officials announced Wednesday.

Mayor Andy Schor and the Lansing Economic Development Corporation have relaunched the Build Lansing initiative with a centralized online platform listing publicly owned properties in the city that have been “strategically prioritized” for redevelopment.

Right now, the city has three properties listed: the F. Preuss Building in Old Town, the 57-acre Plant 6 Industrial Land on the west side of the city and the Kalamazoo Gateway, a plot of land downtown that was formerly the site of an ultimatelypulleddata center proposal.

The city says future properties and sites will be added over time as they become available and “prioritized for redevelopment.”…
