SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, Mich. (WNEM) — The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office said multiple residents have reported receiving calls from scammers who claim someone is making purchases on their Amazon account.
The sheriff’s office said after a scammer tells a resident about purchases on an Amazon account, the caller says the resident’s credit card was used in multiple states.
The resident is then transferred to the “DEA” or “ATF,” told they are involved in illegal wire transfers and asked to keep this information private, stay on the phone and withdraw money from their bank account…
