East Lansing to crack down on illegal parking

EAST LANSING, MI — East Lansing officials say they have found a unique way to crack down on illegal parking across the city. It plans to move forward with a solar-powered camera system that is designed to catch drivers parking in no-parking zones across the city.

The city is using a company called Municipal Parking Services for the program, deploying the company’s “Safety Sticks.” The solar-powered cameras will be placed in no-parking zones. The system will target problem areas that see repeated violations.
