MASON, Mich. (WLNS) — There’s a brand-new dog walking path out behind the Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter — and it’s the result of one local teen’s had work.
Months of planning by 16-year-old Brayden Egan, who chose to build the trail as his Eagle Scout service project, have now paid off. He tells 6 News his love for animals was what led him to calling the shelter.
“They said, ‘Yeah, we have this big area in the back and we’ve been looking for somebody to do something with it,’” Egan said.
With help from fellow Scouts, family and volunteers, the team cleared brush, laid nearly 300 feet of landscape fabric, spread about 20 yards of donated wood chips, built steps and installed a welcome sign.
