After 79 years, a Lansing Catholic book store turns the page

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A west-side store selling Catholic books and decor turned the page to an exciting chapter with its new owners Saturday morning.

Eaton Rapids residents, Jerry Robinson Jr. and his wife, Madeline, recently bought the Rosary Book & Gift Shoppe back in early June and are determined to bring back the spark.

“My brother called me last year and asked me what he could get my wife for Christmas,” Jerry Robinson Jr. said. “I was like, get her a gift card to the rosary shop. It’s her favorite store. She got her first communion dress here when she was little. And he called, and they’re like, the business is for sale. We’re not doing any gift cards at the moment. And we just couldn’t stop thinking about it. We were like, man, it’s for sale.”

The shop provides local churches with communion hosts, candles, incense and many other goods. It has been serving the Lansing area for the last 79 years…
