CHARLOTTE, Mich. (News 10) – The Charlotte Fire Department helped rescue a semi-truck driver who became trapped after a crash on Packard Highway.
According to the department, firefighters, along with the Charlotte Police Department and the Michigan State Police, responded to the crash at the southbound I-69 overpass.
Investigators said the semi-truck was traveling on I-69 when it left the roadway, struck the bridge embankment and went over the edge, coming to rest on Packard Highway below.
The driver was trapped inside the cab when crews arrived. The first units reached the scene in less than five minutes. Firefighters stabilized the truck and used hydraulic extrication tools to free the driver about 10 minutes after arriving…
