Lansing home total loss after early-morning fire

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A Lansing home is a total loss after a house fire early Wednesday morning.

It started around 2 a.m. at a home in the area of West Ottawa Street and Spencer Street off of Michigan Avenue. A 6 News crew at the scene saw smoke coming from the two-story home as firefighters worked to get the flames under control.

The fire has since been put out. No one was home at the time and no one was hurt, Lansing Fire Department Fire Marshal Jared Nisch told 6 News.

Firefighters arrived on scene quickly and were able to keep the fire from spreading, Nisch said. He said it could have easily moved to a neighboring home, but it instead only had minor damage to its siding…
