LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — East Lansing staple the Michigan State University Student Book Store will be downsizing its services and moving to a new location at the start of next month.
According to a social media post by the bookstore, it will no longer sell textbooks and will become a merchandise store exclusively. It cited the ongoing shift to digital course materials at MSU as the primary reason for the change.
The bookstore will also move from its current location at 421 East Grand River Ave. to its new home at 515 East Grand River Ave., currently the site of Spartan Corner. The current location will close on Aug. 2.
Bookstore manager Brad Ballein, whose parents opened the store in 1960, tells 6 News he and his siblings grew up in the store and he has mixed emotions about the move…
