DEWITT, Mich. (News 10) -The DeWitt Ox Roast held a royalty contest at DeWitt Middle School, marking the first pageant the event has hosted in years.
More than a dozen contestants competed across three age-based categories: Little Royal, Youth Royal, and Junior Royal. Winners received cash awards, a sash, crown, and flowers.
A tradition dating to 1946
The Ox Roast itself has been held annually since 1946, with the exception of 2020, making this year’s event the 80th annual.
