Prosecutor’s office wins restitution for family of man murdered four decades ago

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (News 10) -The Eaton County Prosecutor’s Office has won restitution for the family of a man murdered four decades ago.

John Hubbard was bludgeoned to death in 1986 while closing up a Charlotte grocery store. Roger Ruthruff was convicted and given life without parole.

A Michigan Supreme Court ruling later opened the door for Ruthruff’s resentencing, and possible release, because he was 18 at the time of the killing…
