Green ribbons, porch lights honor Williamston siblings killed in bike crash

LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – A little more than a week after a crash in Ingham County that killed two children, the Williamston community is showing support for their family.

Green and white ribbons are appearing along Grand River Avenue in Williamston, tied to fences, light posts and street signs.

Crash details

Michigan State Police say a 12-year-old boy and his 13-year-old sister were riding their bikes along Grand River Avenue in Leroy Township on September 5 when they were hit by an SUV. The boy died at the scene, and his sister died in the hospital several days later.

Michigan State Police are still investigating the crash.
