Days after Harbor Bay Ventures topped out the nation’s tallest mass timber student housing building in Columbus, Ohio, it unveiled a new mass timber student housing community coming to East Lansing, Michigan.
The Chicago-based real estate development and investment firm topped out INTRO Columbus, a 13-story, 186-unit building near The Ohio State University, in early September. This was roughly 10 weeks ahead of its original November target, with the team attributing the gain to prefabrication and tight field coordination.
“Milestones like this, reaching 158 feet, are especially energizing for our team,” said Harbor Bay Ventures CEO Mark Bell. “Every beam we put in place on this project brings us one step closer to students moving in next summer and discovering that this building looks and feels different than anything else near campus.”…
