Few power outages as winter weather makes its way through mid-Michigan

LANSING — Utility outage maps were showing no major power outages as Greater Lansing endured another round of challenging winter weather.

Consumers Energy had restored power to more than 300 customers affected by an outage on Tuesday morning in the DeWitt area. The utility’s outage map showed only one customer without power in the Lansing area.

DTE Energy was reporting no outages in eastern Ingham County, part of its coverage area. The Lansing Board of Water & Light was reporting two outages.

National Weather Service says to expect sloppy, slippery day

DeWITT — More than 300 Consumers Energy customers are without power this morning in the DeWitt area, according to the company’s outage map.

The cause of the outage, first reported about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday with more than 1,200 affected, was not listed on the company’s website. It was the only major outage reported by the area’s four major power companies.

Most area school districts were closed today in anticipation of ice and snow across the Greater Lansing area.
