LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A dive team and other emergency responders are on the scene of a car that was driven onto the ice on a pond Monday morning around 9.
This happened at the pond at the Trappers Cove Apartments off Dunckel Rd. near Jolly Rd.
According to Lansing police, a 19-year-old woman drove her vehicle onto and into the pond. Police said the “woman was having an apparent mental crisis.”
Lansing Fire Department Battalion Chief Lisa Koenigsknecht confirms one woman was in the car and it was workers from Trapper’s Cove that were able to rescue the woman from the sinking car.
The woman was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
