Hot water woes at Lansing apartments

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Residents at a REO Town apartment high rise have been facing cold showers.

“So, at this point, it’s been 76 days,” says resident Stacey Pizardi. That’s how long she says she has not had hot water in her apartment in the Fountain Place Apartments on South Washington Ave.

As a result, she says she’s taking cold showers, feeding a bitterness at her living conditions and the building.

“So, I’m washing dishes with cold water,” she tells 6 News. “Taking baths with cold water. Washing my hands with cold water. “

She’s lived in the apartment building for five years, She says she is autistic and has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The combination of life’s daily battles combined with the lack of hot water, is too far.

“And then I have been going through medical issues in this time frame,” she tells 6 News. “And I kind of didn’t notice. I mean I noticed but I got used to not having hot water as messed up as that seems.”

Four other residents, who declined to go on camera, say they too have struggled with hot water since Mid-November.
