BATH TWP. — Investigators were trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a vacant building near the Meijer store on East Saginaw Highway early Wednesday.
No one was injured in the 2:19 a.m. blaze in a building that once housed a retail storefront, just east of the former Admiral gas station, Bath Township fire officials said.
Crews from the DeWitt Township, Meridian Township, East Lansing and L.S.W. Emergency Services fire departments also responded. Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours, said Kevin Douglas, assistant chief for the Bath Township Fire Department.
Douglas said the cause remained under investigation.
