Bath Township investigates 2 recent fires for arson

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Bath Township police and fire departments are investigating two recent structure fires for arson.

Both structure fires happened at the abandoned Admiral gas station property at 7227 East Saginaw Highway, and took place on the mornings of Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, Bath Township said in a news release this Thursday, Feb. 8.

Upon arrival, responders found that both fires were inside vacant buildings, officials said. The fire department extinguished both fires with help from mutual aid partners.

There were no injuries.

“Both incidents are receiving thorough attention from authorities, and we remain committed to pursuing any leads,” said Fire Marshal Kevin Douglas of Bath Township Fire Department.

Officials also said that if you notice anything unusual, dial 911 immediately to notify authorities.
