EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The annual Powwow of Love returned to Michigan State University’s campus Saturday in celebration of Indigenous culture. From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., people from across the Mid-Michigan region and beyond gathered at the IM East facility at MSU for ceremonial dancing, drumming and native-made art. Phejihotawiya, recently crowned Jr. Miss Indian Chicago, drove six hours from her hometown to East Lansing, just to join in the Powwow of Love and keep her culture alive.
