LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A semi-truck hauling cattle crashed on U.S. 127 southbound between Grand River Ave. and Saginaw St.
The crash occurred about 5:50 p.m.
A Lansing Police sergeant tells 6 News the vehicle experienced a mechanical failure that caused the driver to lose control. The semi hit a cement embankment and suffered substantial damage.
The truck’s fuel tank was punctured during the crash, spilling diesel on the highway. Lansing Township Fire Department crews had to clean up the diesel spill and shut down the right lane.
No human or bovine was harmed during or after the crash.
