MSP investigating deadly car crash in Liberty Township

LIBERTY TWP. — The Michigan State Police is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Tuesday night in rural Liberty Township.

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, troopers responded to the intersection of Hague Avenue near Crouch Road for a single-vehicle crash.

A preliminary investigation showed that a 30-year-old from Onondaga operating a SUV lost control of their vehicle causing it to overturn. Their name was not released by police.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.

The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene due to injuries sustained.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash and they were assisted on the scene by the Liberty Township Fire Department and Jackson Community Ambulance.
