CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WLNS) – A Valentine’s morning 911 call captured the anxiety and ultimately the joy as a dispatcher guided an Eaton County family through the birth of a baby girl.
It’s the second time Eaton County Dispatcher Kayelee Cavender has helped to deliver a baby – from her desk and on the phone.
Cavender credits the family for their work in the happy ending.
Caller: The baby is coming.
Eaton County 911: OK. I’m going to get you a lot of help heading that way. OK?
Caller: Thank you.
That’s the beginning of an early Valentine’s Day morning call that Cavender says stood out from the rest.
Eaton County 911: Can you tell me how far along she is?
Caller: She is in labor. The water already broke and she feels the baby coming out.

Those words were urgent for Cavender.
“It sounded like baby was pretty much on the way and ready to go,” she tells 6 News. “I can’t image. It’s very shocking to deliver a baby in your house.”
