Michigan man gets up to 80 years in 2012 rape cold case

LANSING, MI – A Michigan man was sentenced this week to up to 80 years in prison for a 2012 rape that was long considered a cold case, authorities announced. On Wednesday, Marshawn James Curtis, 30, of Lansing, was sentenced by Judge James Jamo in the 30th Circuit Court of Ingham County to 17 years and six months to 80 years. In December, a jury found him guilty of one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
