In-state 2027 ATH Anthony Cartwright talks connection building with staff on spring return to Michigan

Michigan has pulled the trigger on offering four in-state 2027 prospects so far, with Detroit Country Day athlete Anthony Cartwright featured in the group.

Cartwright, who picked up the U-M offer this past November when he attended the night game against Purdue, returned in late March to watch spring camp practice inside Al Glick Field House, which was a great experience for the freshman.

“It was pretty good,” Cartwright told The Wolverine . “I got to meet all the new coaches, had some great conversations with them. Pretty much just caught up with them. It was good.”

There isn’t a singular position that colleges are eyeing Cartwright to play at the next level. With Michigan, the program is showing early interest in his ability on offense as a wide receiver or tight end.

“The coaches were very intense,” Cartwright said. “They were pushing them to be great. When I was there, they were spreading the ball out a lot. They were making things happen.”

At the practice visit, Cartwright was able to reconnect with wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy and also  meet tight ends coach Steve Casula .
