Work to close Coolidge Road in East Lansing all of next week

EAST LANSING — Ongoing construction along Coolidge Road will completely close a portion of the north-south corridor through next week.

A quarter-mile portion of Coolidge Road from the north side of Compass Drive to Lake Lansing Road will close from May 6 to 10, East Lansing officials said.

There is an existing detour for the area in place because of road work and that will remain in place. Thebusiness entrance to Coolidge Court will be closed, but shops will still be accessible from Lake Lansing Road.

Compass Drive and its businesses will be open and accessible via both Coolidge Road from the south before the road closure, as well as from Lake Lansing Road, officials said in a press release.

Reconstruction work began in mid-April on Coolidge Road, initially closing two lanes to traffic until about June 30. The project should be complete by July 26, depending on weather and other factors, the Department of Public Works said.

The overall project spans from Lake Lansing Road at the north end to Harvard Road, just north of West Saginaw Street (Business Interstate 69) at the south.
