Rate increases from the Lansing Board of Water and Light (BWL) were criticized by Councilmember Mark Meadows at the relatively short Sept. 3 City Council meeting. Meadows used his public comment portion of the meeting to call out the rate increases, saying that BWL is not being transparent about using some of the new funds to build a fossil fuel-powered plant.
