A longtime Lansing-area restaurant closed in January. Now it has reopened its dining room

LANSING — Airport Tavern and Steakhouse, a local mainstay that closed its doors in January and reopened its bar service in April, will begin serving food again this week.

Plans to reopen the restaurant’s dining room were announced Sunday afternoon.

“We are so excited to announce that The Airport Tavern is officially OPEN FOR FOOD SERVICE!” a post on its Facebook page said. “Our hours are Tuesday — Saturday 4-9 pm. Thank you to our community for your continued support! Stay tuned for daily specials and menu updates! Tell your friends and help us spread the word — the Tavern is back! We can’t wait to see you!!!”

The 5000 N. Grand River Ave. property, not far from Capital Region International Airport, is still listed for sale . It went on the market in April and is priced at $450,000.

Owner Pete Sinadinos is still operating the restaurant, but still intends to sell it, said Jim Caster, the real estate agent representing the listing.

Caster said there has been some interest in the property in the five months it’s been for sale.
