Gwen Walz, wife of Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, to visit Lansing on Tuesday

LANSING — Gwen Walz, the wife of Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, will be in Lansing on Tuesday for a campaign event.

Walz and Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes will speak to supporters and volunteers as part of the campaign’s “Fighting for Reproductive Freedom” bus tour, according to a campaign release. The release did not include details about when Walz and the bus tour would be in Lansing, or where it planned to stop.

Tom Grandon, spokesperson for the campaign, said people interested in attending the event should contact the local Democratic Party.

“The same reproductive freedoms Michiganders overwhelmingly supported in 2022 are being threatened by Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, which bans abortion nationwide, restricts access to reproductive health care, and monitors women’s pregnancies,” Grandon said in a release.

“Gwen Walz’s visit to Michigan highlights the vital role voters in Lansing will play in defending women’s reproductive rights nationwide because the only way to stop Trump’s national abortion ban is to send Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to the White House.”
