Big Ten Makes Major Jeremiah Smith Announcement After Michigan State-Ohio State Game

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes have consistently cycled through talented wide receivers over the past five to ten seasons, and they may just have the best of the bunch right now in true freshman Jeremiah Smith , who has excelled in his first four collegiate games.

In a dominant 38-7 victory over Michigan State on Saturday night, Smith played a crucial role in the offense’s success. He rushed for a touchdown and caught another in the first half, finishing the game with five receptions for 83 receiving yards and 19 rushing yards.

The Big Ten recognized the freshman for his astounding performance by naming him the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

He made two of the most impressive catches we’ve seen all year on the same offensive possession, both with one hand. His catch radius and athleticism is incredible.

One of these spectacular grabs set up a touchdown just before halftime, giving the Buckeyes crucial momentum as this matchup was there first true road test this season.

So far this season, Smith has tallied 19 receptions for 364 yards and five touchdowns, averaging an impressive 19.2 yards per catch. He has scored in every game this season, establishing himself as a potential No. 1 wide receiver on the roster, even alongside talented teammates Emeka Egbuka and Carnell Tate.
