Man connected to death of Lansing toddler to be sentenced

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A Lansing man will find out how much time he will spend behind bars in connection to the death of a toddler on Wednesday. Avis Coward pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm earlier in the summer. It comes after 2-year-old King Mohammed got his hands on Coward’s gun in 2023 and accidentally shot himself in the face at a gas station on Dunkel Road in Lansing.
