LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The National Weather Service (NWS) has announced new changes to the types of watches, warnings, and advisories that are issued in the winter season. The changes are part of the NWS Hazard Simplification Project. A project that began several years ago and has been utilized to adjust the current alert system and potentially to begin an entirely new one.
