No. 4 Michigan State takes down No. 2 Boston College to split series

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Coming off a 3-0 loss to No. 4 Boston College on Friday, No. 4 Michigan State was able to bounce back on Saturday night.

The Spartans won 4-3 and picked up their first win over the Eagles since the 2007 national championship game.

It was also the 600th win for MSU at Munn Ice Arena.

“600 wins in one building, that’s a lot,” head coach Adam Nightingale said. “The last minute there you could hardly hear yourself think, which is awesome.”

The loss Friday was the first time since March of 2023 that the Spartans had been held scoreless and on Saturday they would score the first goal of the game with 9:58 to play in the first period.

Wisconsin transfer Charlie Stramel started the scoring by netting his first as a Spartan and later added a second goal, which tied the game at three in the second period.

“BC is a great team. We went out there and had a huge bounce back as a team and it was a very fun game to play in,” Stramel said.

Boston College responded to the first MSU goal with two goals in the final three minutes of the first period and led 2-1 at the first intermission.
