1 man injured after crashing stolen motorcycle into CATA bus

LANSING — A 25-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday night after crashing a stolen motorcycle into a CATA bus at the corner of Capital and Oakland avenues.

Police were dispatched to the intersection about 9:49 p.m. Saturday, Lansing police Sgt. Dustin Belill said. The preliminary investigation determined the motorcyclist drove through a red light and struck the bus.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries; no one was injured on the bus, Belill said. The intersection was closed until about 1:45 a.m., according to an email from Capital Area Ingham County alerts.

Belill said the motorcycle was reported stolen from a location inside the city. He said no charges have been filed in the incident, and the LPD crash team is still investigating.
