Apple Butter Festival Celebrates 50th Anniversary

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)— The Apple Butter Festival brings nature lovers and apple butter to Mid-Michigan.

The Apple Butter Festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary this weekend.

Rachel Swedburg, Board President, says the event is a pinnacle festival for the Fenner Conservatory and Fenner Nature Center.

She says the star of the show is the apple butter.

“We do the process of stirring the cauldron and actually making the apple butter. Which is a really cool experience,” said Swedburg.

She says the event allows people to learn more about the environment around them, which is all a part of the Fenner Nature Center’s mission.

“Our mission is to connect our community with education and stewardship of the natural environment,” said Swedburg.

The event allows people to listen to live music, taste the savoring flavors of apple cider, and apple butter, and buy from local businesses.

Olivia Lindberg, a nature photographer, who sells her work at the event hopes her photography brings a love of wildlife to the community.
