DETROIT — You may want to grab your umbrella before heading out to the polls Tuesday with rain expected across much of Michigan.
While the forecast says Detroit will be mainly dry, much of the state is set for wet, dreary conditions on Election Day , according to meteorologists at the National Weather Service.
In the Great Lakes, the weather service said , above average temperatures, approaching record levels, will build this week. A low pressure center will track quickly northeastward across the Great Lakes Tuesday night, and the trailing cold front will weaken with time, the service said.

Will it rain in Detroit on Election Day?
Detroit will see a warm, mostly dry Election Day, with potentially record-breaking highs, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake. The high Tuesday is could reach 77 degrees. The record high for Nov. 5 in Detroit is 74 degrees in 2022, according to the weather agency.
