How windy will Monday be across Michigan today? What to know

You’ll definitely need a coat — and maybe a stocking cap — before heading out the door Monday morning; Michigan is in for a cool, windy Veterans Day , with overcast skies throughout the region.

Some parts of the state could see wind gusts up to 55 mph, the National Weather Service said this morning. The high winds and cool temperatures come as cold fronts pass through the region: One front passed through Sunday evening bringing rain and storms, and another will pass Monday afternoon, according to the weather agency.

Sunday night’s storms brought a tornado warning for the Ithaca area, although there were no immediate reports of damage.

Here’s what to know about today’s windy conditions.

Will it be windy in Detroit on Monday?

Expect mild, breezy conditions in the Detroit area Monday, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake. The region is set for highs in the mid 50s with a slight chance of rain. Temperatures will drop overnight to lows in the 30s or high 20s.

Expect winds to pick up in the early afternoon, with wind gusts up to 30 mph possible, the weather agency said.
