HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GOO? Bryozoan colony found in northeast Michigan

ALPENA COUNTY, Mich. — Have you ever heard of a bryozoan? They’re so small, they’re easily missed. That is- unless they form a colony, which they often do.

Alpena Fish and Wildlife recently came across a bryozoan colony in Thunder Bay, way up in northeast Michigan.

Bryozoans are just 4 millimeters wide, according to Alpena Fish and Wildlife. They float alone through the water for some time, until eventually they form colonies, working together for mutual benefit…
