LANSING — The Lansing Police Department lieutenant who last week pleaded no contest to embezzling money from the city has retired and will receive his full pension.
Ryan Wilcox, who was accused of spending time mowing lawns for money or working for another company while he was on the clock for his city job, was charged in February with one count of false pretenses between $1,000 and $20,000. The charge carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison. On March 13, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of embezzlement by an agent or trustee between $200 and $1,000.
On Tuesday, the city’s Police and Fire Retirement System Board approved Wilcox’s retirement with full pension, said Jordan Gulkis, a police department spokesperson.
