Man arrested after pursuit, crossing state and county lines, crashes

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash resulted in the arrest of a man who is allegedly connected to multiple crimes in Michigan and Indiana counties.

Saturday, just before 4:30 p.m., the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was told of a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Branch County Sheriff’s Office heading southbound from Branch County, Michigan, about to cross county lines.

After crossing into county lines, before Steuben County deputies could respond, the white pickup truck crashed into the front of a home on State Road 327, just south of US 20. After a struggle with the suspect, later identified as 51-year-old James Edward Williams of Bronson, Michigan, Branch County Sheriff’s Officers took him into custody…
