GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (WILX) – A man faces multiple felony charges for attempted murder out of Grand Ledge.
Matthew James Tompkins, 26, faces five charges, stemming from an incident in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 10.
Tompkins was charged with:
- Homicide – Attempted Murder, a felony punishable by up to life in prison.
- First Degree Arson, a felony punishable by up to life in prison.
- Unlawful Imprisonment, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
- Interfering with Electronic Communications Causing Injury or Death, a felony punishable by up to 4 years in prison.
- Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail.
Tompkins was granted a $1 million bond, with additional conditions. Tompkins was represented by a public defender. His next hearing is on April 21 for a probable cause conference.
