LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Emergency crews across mid-Michigan are mobilizing Thursday as powerful storms threaten to bring damaging winds, hail, and even possible tornadoes overnight.
Consumers Energy says more than 500 utility and contractor crews are being staged across the state, ready to respond to widespread power outages. Crews are prepared to work overnight and into Friday to restore electricity as quickly and safely as possible.
“Michigan is known for rapidly changing weather, so our job at Consumers Energy is to be ready for all possible conditions,” said Chris Wisniewski, one of Consumers Energy’s Officers in charge. “We’re watching this forecast and are making sure our crews are in the best position to restore power to our customers who count on us.”…
