LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A crumbling downtown Lansing building that’s been empty and red-tagged for nearly a decade is finally being cleared to make way for something new.
The 25,000-square-foot Walter Neller Building, located at 122 S. Grand Avenue, has been sitting abandoned between East Michigan Avenue and East Allegan Street. It’s directly across from Davenport University’s downtown campus and the South Grand Parking Ramp.
Since 2016, the city has deemed the building uninhabitable. Trees and weeds have taken root inside. But Monday marked a new chapter, the beginning of its demolition…
