Power restored in Holt area after car hits utility pole

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A car hitting a utility pole in the Holt area led to a large outage for nearly 2,000 Consumers Energy customers in the area Friday evening, according to the power company.

According to Consumers, the outage was first reported at around 6:48 p.m. Friday, covering around 1,200 customers in the area. A crew has been assigned to begin work to fix the outage. Power was expected to be restored by 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Consumers is also reporting a separate, smaller outage covering more than 650 customers near the first, reported at the same time. The outage is listed by Consumers as “planned,” and was also expected to be fixed by 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Both outages were fixed by 10 p.m., though 163 customers remain without power…
