Thousands without power in Lansing area after storms roll through

LANSING — Several thousand utility customers in the Lansing area were without power on Monday, July 28, after thunderstorms rolled through the region.

Consumers Energy was reporting about 730 customers in Eaton and Ingham counties without power. The utility’s outage map showed an outage affecting 608 customers in the Eaton Rapids area and another affecting 865 customers in an area east of Olivet and into Calhoun County.

The utility estimated it would have power restored by Monday night (July 28)…
