LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing Mayor Andy Schor says that he and other Michigan officials are working on “potential solutions” for the residents of a homeless encampment after the city filed a lawsuit against two businesses for “allowing” the camp to grow on their property.
The Director of Communications for the City of Lansing, Scott Bean, told 6 News that Schor has been working with several community members, including State Rep. Emily Dievendorf (D-Lansing), “to come up with potential solutions to finding assistance and resources for the people living in this encampment.”

Bean said that Schor has also been working with City Attorney Gregory Venker and relevant departments to “ensure solutions are part of any legal action.”
Last week, 6 News reported that in the lawsuit, the city claims the business has allowed the camp to exist for the past several years.
