LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The Capital Area Transportation Authority is set to make some service changes.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 18, CATA will implement changes to seven routes and services.
The following changes take effect Aug. 18 (via CATA):
- Route 13 Groesbeck Area: A new trip departing the CTC at 7:15 a.m. has been added.
- Route 20 South Harrison/Jolly/Dunckel: Buses will operate the same route and schedule year-round, including service to the Spartan Village complex. The route will serve the Gateway on all inbound and outbound trips. Service will start earlier and end later throughout the week as trips have been added. Monday-Friday, buses will run more frequently: every 30 minutes until 7:15 p.m. and every 45 minutes until the end of service. Saturday & Sunday, buses will run more frequently: every 45 minutes throughout the day and evening.
- Route 26 Abbot/Chandler: Spartan Service resumes with added trips and later hours. Monday through Friday, buses run more frequently throughout most of the day, departing every 15 minutes until early evening, then every 45 minutes until 11:45 p.m. Saturday buses run until 11:17 p.m. There is no change in Sunday service.
- Route 32 Commuter Lot/Snyder Hall/Clinical Center: Added service resumes with buses departing every 15 minutes.
- Route 35 South Neighborhood/Capital Area Multimodal Gateway: Buses will no longer travel south of Service Road or to Spartan Village. Route 35 will enter the Gateway property for direct service to the building. The route will travel on Birch Road and serve Wonders Hall.
- Route 38 Spartan Village: This route has been discontinued. Buses will no longer serve Shaw Lane, Harrison Road or Spartan Village.
- Lot Link: Lot Link will no longer serve the Spartan Village complex.
- CATA Rydz: The Delta Township zone is expanding north to Willow Highway and east to Creyts Road, with a small extension to Waverly Road. The Downtown Lansing zone is expanding north to Old Town, east to Pennsylvania Avenue, south to Mt. Hope, and slightly west to Waverly Road. The Airport/MSU service will extend service until 1 a.m. and will require prebooking only. Travelers will need to schedule their rides in advance. A new late-night service will be available between a new residential area in Lansing and the expanded Delta Township zone. Rides will be prebook only.
Spartan Service will resume on all Michigan State University campus routes and Route 26. Campus service will resume Aug. 18. at 7 a.m. on Routes 30, 31, 32, 33 and 39…
