Police blame distracted driving in serious-injury crash on M-66 in Ionia Co

ORLEANS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office figures distracted driving played a role in a crash that left a 68-year-old woman from Fenwick in critical condition.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. yesterday on M-66 near Woods Road in Orleans Township.

Deputies said on the ICSO Facebook page that the woman’s car was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn into a gas station when it was hit at a high rate of speed from behind by another car. Police say 24-year-old man from Portland was behind the wheel of that vehicle. He and a passenger had minor injuries…
