Former Lansing resident Marie Keller celebrates 101st birthday

MUNSTER, Ind. – Last week at Munster’s Hartsfield Village revelers gathered to fete Marie Keller, who marked her 101st birthday this year.

Keller, formerly of Lansing, is a resident of Hartsfield Village. She turned 101 on Aug. 12, and on Aug. 15 Lansing Mayor Brian Hardy, other Lansing officials, Hartsfield employees, some of Keller’s family, and friends joined to sing Happy Birthday, share cake, and wish her well.

“Happy Birthday from the Village of Lansing. We’re happy to be here with you,” said Mayor Hardy, prior to the group singing the birthday song.

Hardy said Keller was an “inspiration” to all as throughout her life she and her family were a big part of the Lansing community. Hardy had served as Village of Lansing Trustee with Keller’s son-in-law, the late Mike Manno…
