LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Three teens were shot in a Lansing neighborhood near the Capital Region International Airport Thursday night, which led to a heavy response from multiple law enforcement agencies. Police say their wounds were not fatal.
According to the Lansing Police Department, officers responded to the 3800 block of Wilson Ave at around 8:30 p.m., where they found three teen boys ages 16, 17, and 19 with gunshot wounds.
As of around 9:30 p.m., more than a dozen vehicles from the Dewitt Police Department, Lansing Police Department, East Lansing Police Department and Michigan State Police were seen in the 3800 block of Wilson Ave., near Waverly Rd.
Law enforcement blocked off nearby roads in the area, and at least one officer was seen wielding a rifle. 6 News on the scene reports that police were shining lights on the ground and appeared to be searching for something. Additionally, officers appeared to be blocking entrances to nearby buildings.
