LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Officers from the Lansing Police Department are investigating near the city’s downtown area after a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck Monday night. Police say the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
LPD says officers were dispatched to the area at around 8:10 p.m. for a reported traffic crash involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an adult male, was taken to the hospital by the Lansing Fire Department.
6 News arrived on the scene shortly before 9 p.m., where our crews saw at least 5 LPD cars and police tape set up in the intersection of S Washington Avenue and E Malcolm X Street.
Evidence markers were laid out across the road, including ones marking a singular gray tennis shoe and a black cap.
An alert from Ingham County Dispatch sent at around 8:19 p.m. reported that the intersection was closed in all directions and asked residents to avoid the area.
